Cancer is the Moon's own sign — the lunar principle in its most undiluted expression. Rudhyar's entire lunation cycle philosophy is rooted in the Moon as the 'field of response' to the solar impulse, the matrix of biological and psychological rhythms. In Cancer, the Moon does not mediate between the solar and lunar principles — it simply is the lunar principle: receptive, protective, memory-saturated, and deeply attuned to the cyclic rhythms of nature.
